The Waterloo Community School District employs over 1700 individuals and offers rich diversity and unlimited opportunities to teach, learn, and grow. It is our goal to hire the brightest and the best employees to contribute to optimal learning experiences for our students.

The District has 18 schools - 11 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, 3 high schools. We offer a year round elementary school and an alternative high school. Through the one-cent option tax our district has been able to renovate 2 of our high schools, build a new middle school (academy), renovate one elementary school, and build 6 new elementary schools. 

Our District classrooms have Promethean Boards that enable our teachers and students to use and learn through some of the newest technology available.
